Jennifer Aniston is as much of a savy businesswomen as she is a Hollywood actress, but if the backlash to her latest venture with Emirates Airlines is anything to go by, this ambassadorship may be one she’s now regretting somewhat.
When the ad was first dropped on Youtube last week, fans reacted angrily, branding it arrogant, snobby and elitist. They lashed out at Jen’s involvement in the collaboration, stating that she has lost touch with reality.
In short, the ad features Jennifer having a nightmare in which she’s flying coach with an airline that has no luxury facilities. When the air hostesses inform her there’s no shower or bar on the plane, she faints in horror before waking up in the surroundings of her plush Emirates bed complete with gold trimmings. She is also visibly relieved that her ‘coach experience’ was just a bad dream.
The ad, for which Jen was apparently paid $5 million, ends with her enjoying a cocktail at the plane bar while regaling the barman with her account of the horrible nightmare.
