Following the backlash that surrounded the nude selfies they previously posted last month, Kim Kardashian and Emily Ratajkowski have joined forces to send a message to their body shamers.
The two ladies posed topless in a bathroom while giving the middle fingers to the camera. The picture, which was posted on Kim’s account, was jokingly captioned, “When we’re like…we both have nothing to wear LOL @emrata.”
The caption was a reference to the naked selfie Kim famously posted with only black bars covering her modesty. The picture, which was captioned “When you’re like … I have nothing to wear! LOL!”, was posted on International Women’s Day, and sparked a haze of controversy with many female celebrities lambasting Kim for being an unsuitable role model.
In a show of support for the KUWTK star, Emily posted her own nude photo, accompany by the caption, “What to wear tonight? #PFW”, which Kim later responded to by sending the Blurred Lines model a bouquet of white roses.
Explaining why she joined forces with Kim for this latest photo, Emily tweeted, “However sexual our bodies may be, we need to have the freedom as women to choose when & how we express our sexuality”
“We are more than just our bodies, but that doesn’t mean we have to be shamed for them or our sexuality. #liberated.”
“Even if being sexualized by society’s gaze is demeaning, there must be a space where women can still be sexual when they choose to be.”
