Fashion: It’s Time For a Shake Up at Marc Jacobs

Marc-Jacobs-Vogue-6feb14-Rex_b_426x639Back in June, we told you that designers Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier were taking over Marc Jacobs diffusion line, Marc by Marc Jacobs. The results of their work have now come to fruition and their first collection will be launched in two days, on 11th February. The collection is said to be “playful” and items that the designers themselves would love to wear. Believe it or not, along with this change will come a change of name! Marc himself says that he always hated the Marc by Marc Jacobs title and has a few ideas for new names up his sleeve, but won’t share any yet saying he is “superstitious”.

While Luella and Katie are holding that venture down, Marc has been focusing on things at his main label and is said to be rethinking every element of it from the logo to his packaging and store decor! Hollywood starlet Miley Cyrus was also recently named as the face of the brand. Marc will be focusing on developing product lines as well, with particular emphasis on redesigning his shoe and handbag line in the hopes of raising its popularity. We like the sound of that!
