Once you have you have your perfect skirt, it’s on to styling it of course. As this shape of skirt isn’t all that familiar from past seasons to us ladies, it is sometimes hard to know what to put on top. The latest trend is teaming the a line or tulle skirt with a crop top. While bearing the midriff isn’t for everyone (especially after all those mince pies!), it is a perhaps to best way of accentuating a small waist, as it shows off the slimiest part of our bodies, while the skirt skims over the hips or creates shape for narrower frames.

A cami, jumper or blouse is another very flattering choice to pair with your a line midi skirt. A pretty and feminine cami or blouse work well with the silhouette of the skirt and by tucking any of these in you can create the illusion of a smaller waist, due to the fit and flare nature of the skirt.

A jumper can also have the same effect, but also adds great interest to your outfit by introducing an entirely new texture and playing the soft, feminine sweeping lines of your skirt off against a more feminine chunky knit. If your not sure about this look a you, a cropped jumper could also do the trick.
