What I Wore: Wedding Style From Chicwish

download (7)Hi guys!

So Dylan and I arrived back from Spain late Friday night where we were attending the wonderful wedding of our good friends, Jenny and Ross. I’m going to do a separate post on the big day itself because lots of questions were rolling in about the event as well as general questions about weddings abroad.

Today however, I’m going to tell you about the dress I wore because I know a lot of you want to pick it up. Well I got my pretty floral number from the website, Chicwish. As you might remember, I have worn pieces from Chichwish in the past (here and here), but I think this dress is by far my favourite piece yet!

Firstly the quality of the dress was as good as any designer piece. I was so surprised when I got it, because you really don’t expect such high-end quality for $56!

What I loved most about it was the back detail. This was in the style of a cape and it exposed just a little bit of skin. It was so glam! Another thumbs up for me was the middle band that is tied in a bow at the back and perfect for accentuating the waist.

In my opinion, this style of dress is ideal for a wedding because when you are eating and drinking all day, you need your outfit to be a little forgiving as the day goes on! That’s why I don’t tend to wear bandage dresses to weddings. There’s no give in them, and because they’re so tight, you end up being so conscious of your stomach area that you can’t relax and enjoy yourself on the dance floor.

This dress however was fitted at the waist so while it gave me a really nice shape, it was still lose at the tummy.

The skirt meanwhile had a fab A-line style. As you can see in the shop the look post below, I have included two types of blazers as potential items you could wear with this dress. I think this dress would be fab for a winter wedding, but of course if the wedding is in not-so-hot Ireland, then a blazer is a must! If you want something a bit lighter, then I would recommend the chiffon blazer, which at $45 (€40), is a great bargain.

I might pick it up myself to wear with a tee over skinny jeans.

To finish off the look, I decided to pair the dress with my trusty Louboutin heels, my new YSL handbag, and a pair of sunglasses.

Is this an American site? How long does it take for things to arrive?
