What I Wore: Racing Style In Galway

v

It has been SUCH a busy week, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Late Wednesday night, Dylan and I drove down to Galway where I was scheduled to judge the Claregalway Hotel’s annual Best Dressed competition on Thursday night.

Before that event kicked off, however, we attended Ladies Day at the Galway Races in Ballybrit.

The style there was incredible and I couldn’t believe the effort that some of the attendees had invested in their outfits! For a fashion fan, it was heaven to just stroll around the grounds of the racecourse and see the style!

How fab did this year’s Ladies Day winner, Helen Murphy, look?

Would you believe, some of the ladies who were there on the day had been planning their outfits months in advance? The dedication to this race meet is really admirable.

I got my own dress from my very talented friend, Eamonn McGill, however, as the weather in Galway started off quite dull and dreary that morning, I decided to pair it with a faux fur shrug.

Lots of you wanted to know where my accessories were from, so I figured this look merited a good old ‘What I Wore’ post!

That night, I again had the pleasure of being in the company of some seriously amazing style, this time in The Claregalway Hotel in my capacity as judge of their annual Best Dressed Lady competition.

I had such a great night in The Claregalway Hotel, though I have to say, choosing a winner for their Best Dressed competition was no easy feat.

There was some really great looks on show there.

In the end, I selected Deirdre Travers as the winner of Best Dressed Lady, which came with a unbelievable €4000 worth of prizes, while the title of Best Dressed Gentleman went to Martin Hurney, who was presented with a watch from Center Jewellers, Athenry and a voucher for Fallons for Men, Tuam.
