What was one of the biggest trends on the red carpet at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards and the Grammys? Mesh!

Whether it was colorful or subtle, there were plenty of ladies who were loving this particular look. From runways to celebrities, mesh is a fashion trend that you wouldn’t want to miss, it is classy and sexy.

Ever since Dolce and Gabbana‘s Spring 2012 men’s collection the whole world has hopped on board the mesh madness train! Tops, pants, shorts, shirts, full on dresses, all made of mesh! Sometimes it is the skirt or parts of the sleeve or perfectly placed holes or slices of mesh as seen in DKNY’s Spring 2012 collection modeled at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

SoSueMe.ie is a big fan of the mesh and it seemed to have been the go-to trend for all the shining starlets at the awards this year. From Miley Cyrus in a cream colored David Koma with a plunging mesh neckline (love this), to Nina Dobrev’s glowing green Elie Saab lace/mesh mini (wow), we were loving the intricate mesh detail. Even our very own former Miss Ireland Emma Waldron embraced her lace & mesh goddess as she arrived to the IFTA’s looking sexy as hell in a red lace ensemble by Irish Designer Umit Kutluk!

How to wear mesh:

Don’t wear an entire body suit of mesh! Find a nice elegant dress with mesh detail or go and get some mesh tights that are footless and throw some loose shorts in – mix and match -lots of our high street stores have fab mesh dresses and key pieces.
