Its been a talked about project on and off for years, but an actress has finally signed on to play Aaliyah in an upcoming biopic.
Rumours have circulated since 22 year old Aaliyahs untimely death in a 2001 plane crash in the Bahamas. It was finally announced this week that 17 year old Disney actress Zendaya will play the 90s r n b singer in a Lifetime biopic.
Zendaya – hailing from California, captures Aaliyahs fresh, youthful style on a daily basis and has even previously dressed up as her for Halloween. A premonition or what?!
The similarities don’t end there with the teenager having a background in showbiz as well as being a trained dancer and singer. Seems like the right choice has been made to play homage to one of the 90s most beloved songtresses who was taken too soon from us.
The ink is only drying on her contract so we will be keeping an eye on this production for sure.
