And The New Bond Girl is….

Tonia Sotiropoulou has just been casted for the most sought after role the BOND GIRL in the new Bond movie Skyfall.

The Greek actress revealed on her Facebook page that she has landed a role opposite Daniel Craig in the 23rd 007 outing.

Sotiropoulou initially tried out for the part of Severine before Berenice Marlohe won the role.

Speaking to Greek press, Sotiropoulou said that getting the call to join Skyfall was “the happiest day of my life”.

“I feel very lucky and blessed, but basically, I am very grateful that this happened, for my family and my friends who believe in me and support trying to do,” she said. “I will do the best, I am very proud because somehow it might be something that will advertise in Greece and I am happy about it.”

According to MI6-HQ, Sotiropoulou will film her scenes over five days in Istanbul, appearing in the opening scene of Skyfall where Bond is smuggled into the country when he’s believed to be dead.

Skyfall will open in cinemas on October 26th 2012.
