It’s a boy! It was reported a few months back that reported last summer Simon and girlfriend Lauren Silverman were expecting a boy and planning to name him Eric, and now it seems he has arrived.
Son Eric arrived at 5:45 p.m. in New York City and weighed in at 6 lbs., 7 oz.
Cowell Tweeted;
“Very happy to say Eric was born … Healthy and handsome. Lauren in great shape. Thanks for all of your kind messages. Named after my dad.”
Grinning and wearing shades and a dark top coat against the cold, the “X Factor” judge and creator of “American Idol” evaded questions when he arrived at Lenox Hill Hospital to join his partner earlier in the day.
Silverman is staying in the exclusive maternity ward where Beyonce Knowles gave birth two years ago to Blue Ivy Carter, her daughter with husband Jay-Z, sources said.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Silverman was in the same $800-a-night delivery room where the performers became parents, a suite with sweeping views of the upper East Side, four flatscreen TVs, colorful abstract paintings and crystal candy bowls.
No confirmation on the name and weight yet but we’ll update you as soon as we know!!
