Bridget Jones 3 Loses Major Cast Member.

Hugh Grant, one of the big names attached to the latest adventures in the life of Bridget Jones, has dropped out of the movie. Not only that, but he has hinted that he doesn’t think it’ll be very good, which may be why he’s decided not to star in it.

Grant appeared in the first two movies as Daniel Cleaver, and his role was one of the few central to the story of Bridget Jones. While he thinks the rest of the cast will return, now that he has decided against being involved, it’s a major hurdle for the studio to overcome, and casts doubt whether or not it will move forward at all.

“I decided not to do it. But I think they’re going to go ahead and do it without Daniel. The book’s excellent, by the way, but the script is completely different — well, the script as I last saw it a few years ago.”

The third film is to be based on Helen Fielding’s third book, “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” which received rave reviews last year. The film version has been put on hold numerous times for the script to undergo rewrites, after it was first announced in 2011 that a third movie was on the way.
