FASHION: Reader Request – Houndstooth Print
A few days ago,I asked you guys over on our facebook page if there were any styles/trends you’d like to see, and a few suggested HOUNDSTOOTH
What is Houndstooth??
A large checked pattern with notched corners suggestive of a canine tooth, typically used in cloth for jackets and suits. Recognised by its pointed four corners, it can vary in size, but is most often black and white monochrome.
It was originally mainly used in the 30′s in tweed/woolen mens suits or high-end ladies coats … now it can be seen on anything from dresses to shoes and bags …
How to wear this print …
As with most prints, i would recommend you using one piece per outfit, make it the focus item of your look … whether its a chic houndstooth jacket over an LBD, or just a hint of print on your footwear …

What are ‘key’ houndstooth pieces i can try??
If you are a big fan of this print then opting for a full printed dress is the way to go … RIVER ISLAND have combined the print with that flattering silhouette outline, as seen on Kim Kardashian.
You could pop a print over a neutral outfit, by choosing a cute cropped houndstooth print jacket, very Chanel looking!! This option is from VERO MODA and i especially adore the large round collar, seen here over jeans, but can obviously be used over a dress on a Saturday night …
