It’s not often that someone as famous as Johnny Depp could walk past you on the street without you passing so much as a second glance. However, his makeunder to play mob boss Whitey Bulger means that the star could do just that, as he’s pretty much unrecognisable in the role.
Depp stars in the biopic “Black Mass”, which is based on the 2012 nonfiction book of the same name and began filming last week in Boston. In 2013 Bulger was found guilty of 31 charges, including his involvement in at least 11 murders. He is currently serving two consecutive life terms for his crimes.
Directed by Scott Cooper, “Black Mass” also stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Dakota Johnson and Sienna Miller. The film is due out sometime next year.
