My New Hollywood Hair Thanks To ‘Great Lengths’ & Ceira Lambert!

You all know by at this stage how much I adore long, luscious locks .. and the expert in this area -the amazing Ceira Lambert is to thank for that! (READ ABOUT CEIRA HERE)

I have being getting my extensions done by Ceira Lambert for over 8 months now and I have to say – I’m hooked! But when Ceira called me a few weeks ago to tell me about the new and improved technique of hair extensions she was introducing to her salon, I got SO EXCITED! Like butterflies excited! (Yes I love hair that much)

A lot of people LOVE long hair – but years of abuse with hot tools depletes the keratin in your hair – meaning your hair now reaches a certain point and then breaks – not ideal for someone with Rapunzel-esque dreams.

The Procedure:

To start, I had a one-to-one consultation with Ceira. She talked me through the Great Lengths history and explained that they’re by far her favourite type – as they look so natural and they are longer lasting – BINGO!

There was an amazing selection of colourways to choose from and get this – Great Lengths has 17 shades of blonde alone!! WOW! They use 100% human hair, ethically sourced from India, and you can choose from straight or light kink (Kim K looking), depending on your mood. I opted for the Light Kink 21 inch rich brown strands, in 2 shades of browns for a more natural finish.

The hair was ordered in, and then 2 days later I was at the salon, raring to go.

Ceira had ordered in 150 strands for me- the max is normally about 300, and the idea was to add some thickness as well as length to my hair. Each strand is made up of a number of hairs with a protein polymer bond along the top. This is attached to the hair with a heated tool and then folded around the hair at the root.

It was all over surprisingly quickly, as they were all applied in under an hour and a half- erasing the myth that extensions take forever to put in. I was extremely happy with the finished result, swinging my long locks over my shoulder.

The Benefits:

The hair is better quality
Virtually no damage to the hair

I was told to only brush my hair with a bristle Great Lengths brush and to make sure I slept with it in a side ponytail so it wouldn’t get too tangled. Two weeks on and my hair is still going strong, with no shedding or any tangles!!

I’m very, very impressed with the system and love how natural it looks. Ceira has also recently given Rosanna Davison, Louise Johnston, Roz Purcell and Miss Ireland Aoife Hannon the Great Lengths Hollywood hair look too.. needless to say they all love it!
