The Saturdays are set to head State side!

We all know and love The Saturdays, they’ve been pumping out tune after tune since 2008, and with this latest news, they aren’t stopping any time soon!

It’s been confirmed that the gorgeous five have signed a deal State side so that an album will be released through Island Def Jam and Mercury Records, and with the likes of Rihanna, Kanye West and Ludacris on their books, it’s not too shabby!

Our very own Una Healy spoke to Billboard about it, saying:

“We feel like the time is now for pop music coming from the U.K. and Ireland, but there’s never been a girl band coming from there since the Spice Girls. It’s time for us. We’ve been together a long time now, five years. We’re just starting fresh here. That’s what it’s about. We’ve always wanted to come out here and go to different territories. We really feel ready.”

The band have started to push their way in to the US market this summer by performing at Perez Hilton’s after party at the MTV Video Music Awards, and have also performed at and Island Def Jam industry event.

The single that they’ll try to crack the market with is currently unknown, but it’s due to be released in January 2013!
