Happy Saturday everyone… I hope you all had a lovely working week. At least we’re on the other side of it now and can enjoy the long weekend.
As you might know from reading my blog post last Tuesday, I turned 30 on Wednesday and I had an amazing birthday – I was spoiled rotten. I got such beautiful gifts from my friends, family and boyfriend. When I posted a picture to my Instagram of some of my shopping bags after choosing my gifts, a good few of you wanted to see what was inside, so I will do separate blog post on that next week.
Today I’m here to chat to you about my outfit and makeup details from last night….
Last night was my birthday dinner with my mam and dad. Dylan was supposed to be coming with us too but he had to work last minute, and so, my sister Carla joined us instead. We went to Bon Appetite in Malahide, a restaurant I hadn’t ever been to even though I am living in Malahide for over a year now! Mam and Dad love it there and so they figured it would be the perfect place for a birthday meal!
Before I get into the clothes and makeup detail, I just want to say how impressed I was with Bon Appetite. The food is UNREAL, though I suppose that’s a given considering it’s a 5 star Michelin restaurant! Seriously though, everything from the service to the food to the wine was top marks. I can’t wait to go back
While I was getting ready last night, I decided to go for something classy and low key, as Mam had said the restaurant was quite upmarket.
I chose my Balmain Shirt that I treated myself to a few months ago when I was hosting the DIT Fashion Show with Brendan Courtney. I absolutely adore the beading on this shirt and it is also 100% silk, so you feel ultra glam when wearing it. I teamed it with a pair of Black skinny jeans from River island – the most comfortable jeans in the world – the Mollie fit. To finish off the look, I went with my Christian Louboutin booties and my new faux fur coat from River Island. I think this coat might be out of stock… but here is one very similar for €60.
When I was doing my makeup, I decided on a light smokey eye and of course I chose to wear my SoSueMeLashes. You might remember my lashes were due to launch this time last year, but, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to pull out of the deal. I was let down at the time and I was quite upset about it, but hey these things happen, and now my idea is finally back on track with the right people. I can’t wait for you all to see them!
I got the x7 sample styles on Friday and I am so excited to get my site www.sosuemelashes.com up and running… finally!! These lashes are like no other on the market and they won’t be expensive either.
A lot of you admired my lipstick. Well it’s the new Rimmel Provocalips range and this colour is to die for. The shade is 230 Kiss Fatal. Now these lip stains/lipsticks are one of those products that have a two step process. You apply the colour and then set it with the stick at the other end. It feels kind of dry on your lips because it literally doesn’t budge, so I would suggest adding a little bit of gloss to the top so you don’t have that matte feeling on your lips. The colour literally didn’t budge while I was eating my dinner and I actually needed a wipe to remove it which really proves its lasting power!
This particular colour is a lovely wintery tone and perfect for that season approaching us – CHRISTMAS!
Currently, I am working on some blog posts about my birthday gifts and my favourite wintery lippys so keep an eye out for them.
Have a great weekend guys!
Lots of love, Sue x
