My Dupe For DUO Glue!

duo glue dupe

Hey guys!

I’m currently on my way to Dallas so I thought I would do a quick blog post on a recent dupe I found!

Last week you guys loved the post about the dupe I found for the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow (see here), so I think I’m going to start doing dupe posts more often from now on.

This week I have one that I know you are all going to really appreciate!

As you all know, the majority of glues that come with false lashes are only suitable for the bin. You’re better off buying a good quality glue that is guaranteed to keep the lashes firmly in place for as long as you need.

I myself have always been a massive fan of DUO glue and have been using it for as long as I can remember. It’s possibly the best on the market and the one that most makeup artists have in their kit.

At just over €12, DUO is pretty pricey for an eyelash adhesive, but to be honest I always felt it was worth it because I really didn’t think it would be possible to find another glue that worked so well.

Last Monday however, when I was on my way to Waterford to do a seminar in WIT, I realised I had forgotten my DUO glue so I popped into a pharmacy to pick up a tube. Unfortunately though they didn’t stock it, so instead I ended up buying up an eyelash glue called Royal Eyelash Adhesive which was around €3, a fraction of the cost of DUO.

To be honest, I didn’t hold out much hope for this product! I genuinely thought it was going to be crap but I figured it would be enough to get me out of a jam so I bought it.

I used it with my SOSU lashes and I swear to God guys, I was actually shocked by how well it worked! I honestly couldn’t believe it. I really didn’t think it was going to be any good, but if anything, the Royal glue was actually little bit stickier than DUO, which is always a good thing when you want those falsies to stay in place!

Like DUO, this too is white and dries clear and fast. It’s also very compact in size. It doesn’t smell the same as DUO and doesn’t have the same gluey consistency, but in my opinion, Royal’s stick-factor is definitely that bit better.

Even if you’re a DUO lover like me, there’s no harm in having this gem as a back-up in your makeup kit. In fairness, at €3 you cannot go wrong!

I’m not too sure about stockists but I picked mine up in a regular pharmacy so I presume it’s available in lots of other pharmacies around the country as well.

Hope that helps!
