REVIEW: My Current Favourite Foundation | BEAUTY

suzanne jackson makeup

Ok so as promised yesterday on snapchat here is my latest foundation review – not sponsored, not paid, nada.. just plain ole me LOVING a product I began to test about 7 weeks ago.

If you are following me for some time now, you will know how much I ADORE makeup forever’s ultra HD foundation. I have been using makeup forever’s foundation for a long time now, but about two months ago – dare I say it, I was starting to get a little bored and I wanted to try something new.

I was actually watching a girl I know snapchat about three months ago; Jodie Wood, and she was going through her makeup haul. Jodie went on to say how she had repurchased her fave foundation ever and how amazing it was.

The foundation she mentioned was the YSL Touche Eclat Le Teint and straight away I was interested. First of all, I’ve heard amazing things about this foundation before, secondly her skin is always flawless and lastly the shade options were endless, which is always the sign of a good foundation.

When choosing, I chose two shades, the same ones Jodie had recommended and purchased. They were BD60 for when wearing with tan and B50 for the non tan days, I figured we were both similar in tone.

Truth be told, both of these shades are a little dark for me, but the B50 I get away with when I have my day to day gradual tan on, which has been everyday for the last month or two as I have had something on, be it an event, trip away or silly season in general where tan is required! 🙂 BD60, I generally mix in with my B50 when I’m really bronzed, especially on a night out.

So now for the foundation details!

The foundation sells itself as a ‘full coverage, flawless radiance’ and in my opinion although it’s not full/ full coverage – it does what it says on the tin, and so much more.

The Consistency:

The consistency is a lovely light thin fluid type foundation, as you can see in the picture above. It’s super easy to blend in and never, and I mean never goes on cakey. What I love about it the most is the beautiful radiance it gives the skin, how lightweight it feels on the skin and the lasting power which brings me on to my next point.

The Lasting Power:

Oh that lasting power….. In my opinion, once set with powder, this foundation lasts ALL day / ALL night! It literally does not budge. Now if like me and you love a light powder and nothing that looks too drying/cakey on the skin, then powder with my SOSU contour palette using the powders (shade 3/6) and I promise you, it will last!

The Coverage:

For me, a girl with many freckles, this foundation is medium to full coverage. Now I’m not talking full full coverage like Esteé Lauder Double Wear, but enough coverage to hide most imperfections and freckles.

In saying that, the key here for fuller coverage is the tool you apply this foundation with. If you want full full  coverage, I recommend using this C452 Flat foundation buffer brush and for more of a medium to full coverage I recommend the C502 Pro Duo Round Blender Brush . Both brushes will give you a different coverage, but never-the-less, the radiance and super flawless look will still be there – which is my favourite thing about this foundation.

Shade Options:

AMAZING choice!!! Available in 22 shades – you are bound to find one to suite your skin tone. I would head into BT’s or Boots and ask for some samples, try them out and see. That’s the best way to judge, especially because this is a little more on the pricey side.
