REVIEW: Fuschia Mineral Foundation!

what i wore 5

You might have noticed if you follow me on Facebook and Instagram that a lot of people recently have been admiring my foundation and today I am here to tell you about my new found love!!

A couple of months ago I told you guys about my top 5 foundations and I still stick by them, but being a beauty blogger I am always trying out new products for you and believe me, very few make the cut! There is so many crap foundations out there, isn’t there!! Of course each foundation depends on our skin type, how you apply it etc, but I can guarantee you are going to love this foundation I am about to review.

Recently I stumbled upon the Fuschia Mineral Foundation and I am in love with it. In all of the years I am wearing makeup, I have always HATED powder foundation. First of all, I found it drying, it offers feck all coverage, it’s talcy looking on the skin and just plain CRAP…. then I tried the Fuschia Mineral Foundation and I couldn’t believe it is all of the opposite to what I have just said.

I was hosting an event recently for Fuschia and I had to recommended my FAVOURITE TEN products on the day. Of course Fuschia sent me some makeup to try out ahead of the event and I gave the mineral foundation a try, after all anyone I know who uses Mineral seems to love it, so I gave it another chance!

After I used it and fell in love with it, my skin looked glowy, I had full coverage, amazing coverage actually and it lasted….. ?! How was this possible? I asked one of the Fuschia makeup artists why was it the opposite to drying on my face and how did it offer such amazing coverage? She then went on to explain that the mineral foundation has NO talc in it – which is responsible for that chalky look powder foundation usually gives.

I did have a tiny amount of my liquid foundation on first to even my skin tone, but the Fuschia makeup artist said they all apply it over a small amount of the liquid for extra lasting benefits. Since doing this, I have never had to top up my foundation – its brilliant!

From my experience, the Fuschia mineral foundation guarantees the perfect finish every time. The silky mineral powders brush onto the skin, giving exceptional coverage and a lightweight feel at the same time. Completely natural, these foundations give a healthy natural glow to all skin types and all ages, and will adapt to suit your skin.

How To Apply:

Shades I wear: I like Toffee at night and Fawn during the day!

1. Apply my moisturiser and radiance balm from No7

2. I apply a tiny amount of any liquid foundation to all my hyper-pigmented areas (pink cheeks), blemishes etc

3. Dabbing my Crown foundation round buffer brush into a 5 cent coin size amount of mineral foundation, I then turn the brush upwards and tap it off my makeup shelf so the powder falls down deep in the bristles (that way you’re not dabbing it directly onto the skin).

4. In circular motions, I blend the mineral foundation all over my face, building slightly for the perfect coverage. The coverage needs to be built up with thin layers and the product needs time to warm up to your skin and mix with your natural oils. If it appears shiny, you’ve put on too much.

TIP: You can also add a little Mineral Rice Setting Powder on the top to calm the shine.

This brilliantly silky mineral powder is available in eight different shades. Whether you’re beige, sand, bronze or porcelain, finding a colour match shouldn’t be too difficult. 🙂

I will be recording a YouTube tutorial on my foundation routine this weekend which will include this mineral foundation, so stock up now 🙂

Just bought this make up & rice powder on your recommendation! Just wondering do you still use crown brush contour over this make up? Love your blog, have bought so much that you recommend & love it all. Thanks

Definetly going to try out the Fuschia, loved your you tube tutorial so hoping to pick up a few bits at the weekend. Dont know if I can get to Swords at the weekend so just wondering when ordering online which shade to chose on the mineral foundation? I use Mac Studio Fix in NW25 and have wanted to try mineral foundation but like you thought it wouldnt give much coverage.

I absolutely love this brand! I’m just waiting for my bare minerals foundation to run out and then I will definitely be switching to fuschia. My best tip for fuschia makeup is to use the pic’n’mix 3-for-20 offer and to buy one gel liner/brush and two mascaras. The mini mascara is actually better than the full sized one because the brush is finer (so less clumps!) and this way you get your gel liner or brush for the half the price – I got a fab angled blusher brush for just 7 euro this way!
