My Top 5 Developing Tans! ♥

tanning2

If, like me, you are a fake tan addict, then this blog post might help you today!

I am naturally quite pale and because I have dark hair, I feel it’s always better to be a little tanned than extra white-looking! Sometimes with dark dark hair and pale skin, I can look a little like the banshee 😉

Being a beauty blogger, I am sent a lot of products to try out, and one type of product that is sent in dozens is fake tans! The Irish market is flooded with tanning products, and so, it can be quite hard for you to choose the right tan that will:

A) give you a nice golden natural looking tan

B) won’t go on streaky and blends in well

C) wears off as nice as false tan can

So today I am here to discuss my top 5 fake tans, and why they have made it onto my list of favourites! Now, bear in mind not all of these tans might suit your skin type. I’m pale skinned, and I would tan naturally in the sun, so I find these are perfect for me 🙂

1. Lauren’s Way – Darker than Dark Mousse

Price: €20

laurens way 1

I have been using this tan for the last 3 years and I absolutely love it! The colour this tan gives is a gorgeous golden brown that looks so natural but yet is super dark at the same time! I love extra dark tans, and when it comes to my night time look, this is my go-to tanning product! If I have a shoot on during the week, I will always use Lauren’s Way, simply because the colour comes up so nice in photos and it lasts all week on me, which means I will get the weekend out of it too. I use the darker-than-dark shade, which is quite deep when developed, but if you aren’t a lover of dark tans, then maybe try the medium for that golden glow.

2. Baby B Browne – Medium Lotion

Price: €20

babyb

Another absolute favourite of mine! Baby B is such an amazing tan. Firstly I love the formula – it’s a thick, creamy texture that glides on to the skin and blends in so perfectly. The fragrance of this tan on application is sooo good; kind of like a toffee/almonds smell, and almost tempting enough to eat. The colour that develops is very similar to Lauren’s Way, a gorgeous golden bronzed look. Also, if my skin feels really dehydrated, I will always opt for this tan because of the moisturising feeling you get when you apply it.

3. Vita Liberta – Mousse Medium

Price: €46.50

vita

I only tried out this tan recently enough, and now I know what all the fuss was about. It’s really good!! This tan comes in the cutest compact bottle ever made, and it’s perfect to take with you when traveling. The Vita Liberta tan is actually a 2-3 week tan and although your colour won’t stay absolutely perfect for the 3 weeks, it does wear off very well. It’s easy to see  why this tan has won so many beauty awards. I have this one in the medium shade, and the colour it give me is a gorgeous natural-looking golden tan. The medium in this tan wouldn’t be as dark as the two tans listed above, but it still offers a fab sunkissed colour, and that’s the kind of result I love.

4. He-Shi – Rapid 1 Hour Tan

Price: €27.23

rapidhour

I have always been a fan of this particular tanning range, and recently, I tried out the Rapid 1 Hour Liquid Tan. I love it for what it is… a super quick developing tan. You know those nights when one of the girls phones at the last minute to ask if you want to hit the town, and all you can do is shudder at the thought of having no tan done? Well this beaut is perfect for those kind of nights, because it gives you a gorgeous colour after just one hour, and although it wouldn’t be as dark as I’d like normally like my tans to be, it’s still brilliant for a last minute colour if you have no time to spare, and zero interest in wearing instant. You just pop this on for an hour, shower, and you are 100% darker than you were 60 minutes earlier. I have yet to try this tan right before bed to see how dark it can go, but so as soon as I do, I will let you know. The formula of this tan is a liquid  – not my fave kind, as it can be quite messy, but I do love the He-Shi range, so it definitely deserves a mention here!

5.  Wow Brown- Read To Glow

€20

wowbrown

Another tanning liquid, but 100% deserves to be in my top 5. I only started to wear this tan at Christmas and since then, I have loved it. I was sent this tan to try from the lovely gals over at WowBrown and I added it to my shelf of ‘TO TRY OUT’ products. One night my sister came over to stay, and as she had a shoot the next day, she asked if she could borrow some fake tan. I was in watching the television at the time, and an hour later, out she sweeps looking all gorgeous and golden, like as if she had already been tanned and washed off the bronzing residue. I asked her which tan she used and when she told me it was the Wow Brown one, I instantly planned to try it out for myself that weekend! I was so impressed by it! This is the type of tan you could defo apply and head straight out with it on. It’s golden from the get-go and dries in super fast. The colour of this tan is really golden, which I love, but I have to point out, it might not be great for people who don’t tan naturally in the sun because you might get a slightly organgy tinge from it. Other than that, it gets a huge thumbs up from me 🙂

And that’s it – my top 5 developing tans! 🙂 If you would like to know how I apply my tan or how to fake it for your holidays – you can read more here!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post!
