Q. My hair is always flat.. how do I achieve Volume? Laura

A. Heated rollers have always been the hairdresser’s favourite for achieving curls, waves and volume. The Babyliss styling heated rollers kit is the best! I love it and use it nearly every weekend!

How to use:

1. Just flick the switch to heat the rollers 2o mins prior to using

2. Start at Top of head
Section clean, dry hair into 3 sections: Mohawk, sides and bottom.
Starting at the top, hold section of hair completely straight up and spritz roots with a light holding hairspray. Use the largest hot rollers to roll hair toward the back of head. This should take 3 rollers for the Mohawk strip.
3. Next, Side of head and bottom
When rolling the side of your head, hot rollers will be placed on base and rolled downward. Spritz each roller with spray. For a flipped effect on the very ends of your bottom hair, roll hot rollers upward. Roll other side of head the same way.
4. Style with flexible hairspray to allow movement!

Q. Ive over plucked my eyebrows :( How long will it take for them to grow back? Niamh

Hi Niamh,

A. It generally takes at least 6 weeks to regrow hair. When it comes to eyebrows, this can take longer if you’ve been overplucking them for a long time. Sometimes, brows that have been plucked too thin for too long become discouraged and may not grow back at all. Believe it or not, you can have eyebrows surgically replaced if you lose them by over plucking. But if you just went a little nuts the last time you had a pair of tweezers in your hand, don’t worry; your eyebrows have already started growing back—you just can’t see them yet. Give it a month or two and they should restore themselves.

Q. How can I give my skin a little extra glow? Jenny-Lee

Hi Jenny-Lee,

A. If you want a natural glow, you can achieve it by using a facial scrub. Made with ingredients like almond or walnut shells, oatmeal or cornmeal, facial scrubs exfoliate the skin, scraping off the dead cells and leaving fresh ones gleaming.

You can make your own scrub by using about ½ teaspoon of cornmeal in a little lotion, with a splash of water thrown in. Don’t ever rub hard with a scrub, just a little circular, smoothing motion will do the job. Afterwards, use your favorite moisturizer on dampened skin.

If you want a little more than a natural glow, you can use a skin bronzer for a tawny, sunkissed look or a makeup containing a wee bit of mica, which imparts a shimmer to the skin without the added tan.

Drinking your eight glasses of water and getting daily exercise can also add a healthy glow to your complexion.
