You won’t believe it when you find out what this nail polish can do!
Students at North Carolina State University have developed a nail polish that can detect date rape drugs!
The new polish range called Undercover Colours, will be able to detect GHB, Rohypnol and Xanax, which have a sedative like effect and are often used as date rape drugs.
By dipping a polished finger into a drink and stirring it, the wearer will be able to test their beverage for such drugs.
The nail polish will change colour, alerting the potential victim before they ever take a sip.
Now that’s impressive!
The creators of the polish, Ankesh Madan, Stephen Gray, Tyler Confrey-Maloney and Tasso Von Windheim, say that it is not yet ready for mass production, but they are excited at the prospects it offers.
Keep your eyes peeled for a Undercover Colours polish on your chemist shelf some time soon!
