There’s more to a sun kissed look than just fake tan and bronzer. After all, a real sun-kissed look includes a sprinkling of freckles, and now, thanks to Topshop, we can fake those too!

I love freckles, it took me years to accept mine as I always preferred to cover them, but in recent years – I accepted that I had them and grew to love them, especially those cute ones around the nose 🙂

I was delighted to hear that one of my favourite high-street giants are bringing out a pretty impressive ‘freckle pencil’ this July!

So what makes this one different to any other freckle pencils that are on the market? Well, this pencil contains two shades of brown mixed together so that every freckle you apply has a slightly different colouring. This will make the finished result far more realistic, because after all, no two freckles are the same colour.

The pencil also contains a waxy formula that will keep your freckles in place, so you don’t have to worry about them smudging as the night goes on. freckles

Topshop beauty consultant, Hannah Murray, who works on the make-up for the Topshop Unique shows, spoke to Vogue UK last night about how she used to create freckles on models by using a variety of eyebrow pencils in different shades of brown.

She explained,
”Whenever I do freckles for shoots or catwalk shows, I use multiple brow pencils in a range of hues in order for them to look realistic – no freckles are the same colour. To create a fresh-faced, youthful glow that will see you through the summer, begin by sweeping matt bronzer or liquid bronzer onto the cheekbones, temples and the bridge of the nose. Then tap the pencil onto the skin in rapid motions and, if necessary pat gently with your ring finger to soften. For the most natural finish, freckles should be random.”
Topshop’s Freckle Pencil will retail at just over  €7, and I for one will definitely be trying it!

Happy freckling!
