Makeup Brush Guide: The SoSueMe Limited Edition Brush Set.

00

If there is one topic I am asked about on a very regular basis, it’s the makeup brushes that I use each day.

There is such a vast range of brushes out there that it can often be difficult to know which ones to invest in, and more importantly, which brush does what!

With this in mind, I decided to create a set featuring only the ten key staple brushes. These are the ones that I use most frequently; the favourites I really couldn’t be without!

The SoSueMe Limited Edition set is currently available on the Crownbrush website, and to help you keep your brushes safe, they come in a sleek leather case!

To help you get a feel for the set, I have listed each brush and its purpose!

1

SS022 – Powder Brush

This is a large (and extremely soft) powder brush. I love using it to apply my face powder because I find it gives a really natural finish, and it also helps me use less powder than I would if I were applying it with a powder puff, so there is no risk of the product looking as though it was caked on. Result!

The SSO22 powder brush can also be used for dusting bronzer onto the face for a natural sunkissed glow. As this brush is also large enough for use on the body, it’s perfect for bronzing up those limbs and pins too!

C406 – Large Duo Fibre Foundation Brush

The large duo fibre brush is my go-to brush for foundation application. It’s just perfect for blending liquid foundation into the skin and it leaves absolutely no streaks. This type of brush also gives the foundation a very lightweight, almost airbrushed, finish. Is it any wonder it’s a Crownbrush bestseller? It can be used for the application and blending of cream and powder products, as well as liquid products.

C405 – Blush/Bronzer Brush

When it comes to makeup tools, I love angled brushes, and the C405 is the one I turn to whenever I am applying and blending blusher or bronzer on my cheeks and cheekbones. It is also a brush I use whenever I am contouring with powder products.

SS001 – Deluxe Large Foundation Brush

The deluxe large foundation brush is a flat base brush that I like to use during my contouring routine. It packs on the product so you get good coverage. As well as using it for contouring, I also like to use it for the application of liquid or cream highlighters. If you prefer a flat base brush for your foundation application, then you will love this one. It can also be used for applying BB creams.

C433 – Pro Blending Fluff Brush

This brush is most commonly used for applying and blending eyeshadow, however it is also a wonderful tool for applying and blending concealer! Don’t you love multi-functional brushes?

The Pro Blending Fluff is the sort of brush that leaves you wondering how you managed to get by without it. It is SO good for blending eyeshadows and I find it brilliant for helping me to create a soft feminine look with my eye makeup.

It is also a wonderful tool to have on hand when creating a smoky eye. When it comes to eye makeup, I think this is one of the most beneficial brushes you could own.

C456 – Pointed Blender Brush

The pointed blender brush is used for the application of cream/liquid concealer on parts of the face such as around the eyes, nose, chin, and around the mouth. When it comes to flawlessly disguising blemishes, this brush is a godsend! You can watch how I use this brush here.

It is also really good for smudging eyeshadow under the lower lashes.

It’s worth noting that the pointed blender brush is part of the Infinity range of brushes, all of which are designed to create flawless make-up application without the absorption of product into the bristles, so nothing goes to waste! Bonus!

C441 – Pro Blending Crease Brush
This is the brush you need if you want to perfect the smoky-eye look. You simply use it to blend the eyeshadow into the crease of the eyelid, and in doing so, you are left with a sexy smoked look. The smoky eye takes practice, but if you have this brush, then you are half way to nailing it.

SS025 – Syntho Brow Duo Brush
The Syntho Brow Duo brush is the ideal tool for any lady wishing to stay on top of her brow game! Haha! The angled brush can be used for applying all kinds of brow powders, while the spoolie at the other end helps to neatly groom the brows. The spoolie can also be used to separate lashes after applying mascara.

SS008 – Deluxe Eyeliner Brush
Now this is the brush you use if you want to achieve a very precise application of eyeliner. I like to use it with gel liner and I love the result I get whenever I apply it using this brush. Great for creating the winged liner look, and the cat eye look.

C468 – Smokey Eyeliner Brush
This one is pretty self explanatory! The tapered edge of the brush helps you to create a smoky eye with your liner. It can be difficult to create the smudged liner look without the right brush, but this is the one that will do it for you thus giving you a perfect smoky eye!

The synthetic fibres are also precisely cut for mistake proof application, so you should have no trouble mastering the look. The brush can be used to apply cream, gel, or powder liner.

As a confirmed lover of the smoky eye look, it pretty much goes without saying that this brush is an absolute blessing!

They apply my make up so well with a streak-free, smooth application. The brushes are so soft and leave a lovely natural finish! Cant boast about them enough haha, thanks for that link too:) & just thought id tell you I saw tons of good reviews on using Johnson’s Baby Shampoo (the yellow original one) to wash brushes because it’s such a gentle and mild formula, smells lovely and gives a great clean! Might be one to check out if you get a chance:)
