Happy Sunday…. I hope you’re all having a lovely evening?
On Friday night I decided to head out with Dylan and some of our friends to celebrate my latest news and happenings, which you can read about here. I haven’t been out in a few weekends and after I collected my tickets to NYC on Friday, I wanted a glass of champers to mark the occasion.
Of course… no night out is ever complete without a shameful selfie and after I posted the picture above, lots of you were asking about my makeup and lipstick. About a year ago I posted a YouTube Tutorial on ‘How To Contour’ and it went down really well, and, now I am thinking about doing an updated version? Would you like that? Let me know in the comments section below.
While I was doing my makeup on Friday night I wanted to do a heavy contour for the night that was in it. For the last while, I have been using a bronzer and a Rimmel concealer to highlight and contour, but on Friday I decided to try my new CrownBrush camouflage/foundation palette and I loved the final look.
Containing six different cream based concealers, this palette allows you to combine shades to create tone for your contoured look. I used the shade next to the lilac tone for my highlight and the extra dark colour for my contour. The key to H&C is to BLEND, Blend blend. You have to spend an extra few minutes blending out the concealers, but the final look is so worth it.
To apply my highlight and to blend, I used this brush

The concealers offer full opaque coverage and are easy to apply and blend with a synthetic concealer brush. A few of you asked about the green and purple concealer – basically they are corrective concealers. The lilac colour is great for brightening the eye area and for covering/hiding dark circles, while the green will counteract any redness, which is perfect for anyone who suffers with high cheek pigmentation/roseacea etc.
How Do I Apply The Highlight & Contour?
1. I start off by applying my CrownBrush golden highlighter all over my face, I love this stuff – you can read my review here.
2. Then I apply my foundation! The foundations I used on the night were Chanel and Makeup Forever HD mixed together. My Chanel foundation is quite dark and so I mix it with the shade 123 from Makeup Forever and it gives me the perfect tone.
3. I let me foundation set and I do my brows
4. I come back to my face and then I highlight & contour
Another question I was asked a lot on the night was what colour lipstick I was wearing…… I went for a pop of colour using the new Matte Lipstick from NYX. I chose the colour MLS 02, which is an amazing purple/pink colour that literally doesn’t budge! You can buy that lippy here for €4.
The Crownbrush Palette can be purchased here for €28.
Happy Shopping!
