My New Years Eve Makeup – The Full Product List!

sue

Hi guys!

Happy New Year! 🙂

Hope you all had an easy first day back?

I’m back to the grindstone myself today. I’ve been attacking a load of posts that I have been meaning to do over the past 2-3 weeks. I decided to first start working on a post about my New Year’s Eve makeup. I got so many questions about my makeup from that night after I posted the pictures on social media!

We had such a wonderful New Years Eve. Myself, Dylan and a few friends attended a masquerade ball in the Mansion House which was so much fun! I got to wear a gorgeous red gown which was a nice treat because it’s not often I get to wear a floor length number!

For my makeup I opted for much the same products I normally use for a night out, but with a little extra sparkle given the night that was in it.

Here’s the full run through of the products I used, hope you enjoy!

NYE

Face:

I started by prepping my skin with L’Occitane Creme Divine moisturiser followed by my favourite primer, YSL Top Secrets (SUCH a great product, check out my review here)

Next, for my foundation….

I started off by applying my Make Up For Ever liquid foundation in the shade 123, using my C406 duo fibre brush from Crownbrush UK.

I wanted a little extra coverage on the night so I applied my Make Up For Ever foundation stick to my cheeks, chin and middle of my forehead. I then dampened my SOSU Pro Blender and patted the foundation into the skin. I find the Pro Blender really good for that bit of extra blending so you get a fab flawless effect.

For added contour, I used MAC’s Give Me Sun bronzer, which I picked up in Duty Free on my way to the Maldives. I have been trying it out since I bought it and I really like it!

When it came to blusher, most of you probably know my favourite by now from previous posts– theBalm’s Hot Mama! This is a gorgeous shimmery peachy tone. I then dust on some highlighter. I use MAC’s Global Glow which is a beautiful gold iridescent shade and gives such warmth to the skin. I always like to apply a little on the tips of my cheekbones, above my Cupids Bow and on bridge of my nose.

I then set the look using Fuschia’s mineral powder in the shade Toffee. This is a brilliant powder and one I have been using for ages now. I love when I find a product that I know I can rely on.

Brows:

For my brows, I first used the Dip Brow Pomade from Anastasia Beverly Hills. For extra definition, I then used some HD Brow Powder to fill them in a little more. Next I set the brows using some Gimme Brow from Benefit.

For me, this stops the brows from getting patchy throughout the night.

Eyes:

For the eyes, I started by prepping the lid with YSL’s Eye Couture Primer. Some of you might remember me talking about this product on Snapchat when I was taking you guys through my Maldives makeup bag contents.

My eyeshadows were all from Inglot (as per usual).

Once the lid was primed, I applied a creamy matte base – number 355 – all over lid. I then used an orangey taupe shade – number 335 – as my transition colour, so I applied it all over the lid and slightly above the crease of the eye.

In the crease itself, I used a dark brown shade – number 329.

I then very slightly blended out the brown shade with a nice cranberry colour – number 450 – so as to give the eye makeup a little extra warmth. Right in the centre of the lid I used the Inglot Pure Pigment Eyeshadow in number 118. This is a seriously beautiful iridescent shade that changes colour depending on the light. Sometimes it looks gold, other times it looks creamy pink. It was perfect for New Years Eve because it gave my eye makeup a little extra sparkle.

To apply the glitter without it going all over my makeup, I sprayed my Crown c433 flat eyeshadow brush with the Inglot Fixing Spray and then dabbed it into the glitter. Because the eyeshadow goes on wet, it doesn’t fall all over the face and ruin your foundation!

For underneath the brow bone, I used a matte white eyeshadow from Inglot.

Underneath the eye, I used the C431 pencil brush from Crownbrush to apply cranberry and matte black shades before then blending them out.

When lining my eyes, I decided to create an elongated flick using my Rimmel Glam Eyes liquid eyeliner. I then used a MAC Kohl Eyeliner Pencil on the waterline.

Because it was New Years Eve and we were attending a masquerade ball, I decided to go for a dramatic look so I used two sets of SOSU lashes stacked on top of each other. It was such a lovely full look.

For mascara, I used Roller Lash from Benefit. I have been trying this out over Christmas and I have been finding it really good.

Lips:

I wanted a strong colour that was a similar orange red like the dress, so I decided to wear the shade ‘Kiss Me You Fool’ which is part of the Rimmel Provocalips range. It’s a very matte lipstick which sets quite hard on the lips and as I don’t like that gritty feeling, I always add some red gloss from theBalm. This gives my lips some extra sheen lips as well as preventing them from feeling so matte.

To finish, I brushed some MAC Give Me Sun Bronzer along the jawline so that my foundation would blend seamlessly into my neck, and then I dusted some MAC’s Global Glow on my shoulders.

There you guys! The full list, as requested!

Here is to a wonderful makeup filled 2016.. 🙂
