My Save The Dates!

w4

Hi guys!

Hope you all had a good weekend and an even better start to the week. It’s really starting to feel so Autumnal now! Love this time of year, particularly Halloween.

I think I’m still on a high after Milan and Paris! They were such amazing places. Would you guys like a blog post on either of them?

Today I have a wedding post for you! We got the news that our Save The Dates are ready! Yay!

The one thing I find with organising a wedding is that you go through waves of planning. You’ll get loads done one month and then nothing done the next!

As the big day is still 12 months away, there are some things that can only be done closer to the time but there are lots of other tasks that can be ticked off well in advance, and one of these was our Save The Dates!w2

Not everyone does Save The Dates and that’s ok – it’s a very personal choice – but because we’re only inviting a certain number of people, we wanted to ensure they were all available on the day and had plenty of time to organise accommodation, so we figured the best way to do this would be to send out Save The Dates.

For our stationery, we are working with Appleberry Press. I had heard so much about them from friends of mine who have gone through the wedding process but because I am actively looking up all things wedding-related, I was already very familiar with the name and knew of their amazing, professional reputation.

The one thing I am adamant about with regard to my wedding is that I want to use as many Irish businesses as possible, so I was delighted when I heard that Appleberry was an Irish company, owned by a very talented Wicklow businesswomen called Ailbhe Cronin.

Before we booked Appleberry, I didn’t have a clue what would be involved or what would be required

I was completely in the dark about that whole area so I got in touch with them and gave them an idea of the kind of style I had in mind. Following that phone call, they sent me out a box of the most beautiful personalised samples and wow, you wouldn’t believe the level of thought that went into what was sent.

Ailbhe had even hand-painted a picture of Dylan and I and stuck it to the front of the box. It was honestly the most thoughtful gesture.

The moment that box arrived at my house, 90% of me knew I would be booking Appleberry for my wedding invitations because the effort and attention to detail that went into that sample display was just so outstandingly impressive. Talk about an amazing first impression!

As Dylan and I went through the box of samples, we were blown away by their work. We loved the quality, the simplicity, the elegance and the fact that we had a whole range of styles to choose our inspiration from.

After that, we made an appointment to meet with Ailbhe and Maeve in Appleberry and went through with them everything that we liked about the different samples. We are going with bespoke invitations and Save The Dates for our wedding so we left that meeting feeling just really excited by the prospect of designing our wedding stationery!

For our Save The Dates, the ladies sent on the proofs to us and we made our changes until they were what we had in mind. I think we we only through two different proofs before we had our finalised style. Ailbhe and Maeve were just so quick and efficient.

They are more than used to dealing brides-to-be who are very particular and they didn’t bat an eyelid when I asked tem to make some changes!

We were so excited when we signed off on the final design.

What I loved most was when Appleberry sent us a video of our Save The Dates being made in the printers! It just made the whole process even more exciting and real! Sometimes a wedding can feel like this far-off event, so I love how every little milestone along the way just brings it that bit closer!

Anyway, earlier this week, Maeve got in touch to say our Save The Dates were completed!

We are now in the middle of compiling the addresses which is taking longer than expected… it is not fun in 2016 chasing addresses haha!

I’m hoping to have the Save The Dates out within the next two weeks so that will give our guests eleven months to book accommodation. Definitely plenty of time!

I promise to show you all a picture of our Save The Dates in the coming weeks! Really hope you love them as much as we do.

Have a great evening, guys!
