My New Lancôme Skincare Faves!

I’m finally back in the land of the living after a really exciting trip to Thailand.

I’m going to be posting my full outfit and trip round ups over the next few days so I will answer all your questions in those.

Today however I’m writing about 2 of the skincare products I brought with me on the trip. They are both from Lancome’s new Energie De Vie range – the Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Care, and the Overnight Recovery Sleeping Mask.

I have only been using them for about 10 days now – which I know is quite brief – but the results have been pretty immediate so I wanted to let you know how I have been getting on especially as lots of you Snapchatted me questions about the products after I posted a video of me using them as part of my nightly routine while in Thailand.

This is actually the first time I have come back from a trip with hydrated skin! Normally when I return home from a holiday – especially a sun one – there are some dry patches on my face, but not this time. I was so surprised by this because we were out in pretty intense heat.

Granted I was wearing SPF like always, but my skin was still exposed to the sun so I expected some dry patches, but no! Not one! The only thing I did differently was use these 2 products.

They work so well together, which would explain why I’m seeing results already despite having only been using them for just under 2 weeks.

Those of you who follow me know I am currently in the midst of a pretty detailed skincare regime as I want my skin looking glowy and dewy for my wedding next year. Of course the best way to do this is through hydration so when Lancome very kindly sent me these products the week before my holiday, I figured the best place to test their hydration level would be in a really hot climate!

Energie De Vie Overnight Recovery Mask

I’m going to start with the Overnight Recovery Mask as this was my favourite of the two.

The great thing about this product is that it can be used as a night cream, a 10-15 minute face mask, or as a sleeping mask. I had heard some amazing things about this product (one girl said it actually healed her skin after an invasive skincare treatment!) so I was DYING to start using it.

First of all, the product has a really nice balm-like consistency so it really melts into the skin and leaves it feeling so soft, kind of like the way a primer would.

I used this every night without fail. I wouldn’t be one for going to bed with a mask on, so I instead chose to use it as a quick face mask. After arriving back at our room following dinner, I would remove my makeup, apply a thin layer of the mask, let it sit for 15 minutes while I watched TV or checked social media, and then rinsed it off with a hot face cloth.

Every single time I used it, my skin felt SO refreshed afterwards. Even when I get out of the shower lately, my skin doesn’t feel as tight, and after just 10 days of using it, I can actually see a difference in my skin as well. It looks so hydrate & feels so soft.

The product comes in a nicely sized pot and a little goes a very long way. I can see it lasting me a good while.

Energie De Vie Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Care

After using the mask, I always applied the Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Care. This is a GREAT base for makeup because it leaves the skin feeling so velvety soft and matte. No greasy residue whatsoever!

As well as using it at night, I used it each morning after cleansing my face. It’s really light and soaks into skin very quickly. I usually put 2-3 pumps on the palm of my hand and then pat the product on to the skin. My skin felt instantly refreshed.

The thing about this moisturiser is that it’s not a cream or a serum, it’s a liquid moisturiser, and to my knowledge, it’s the first of its kind. Lancome have called it their hero product so as you can imagine, I was really excited to see the effect it would have on my skin.

So far, it has more than impressed me. You know that fresh complexion you get after an exercise session or a good night’s sleep? That’s what this moisturiser does for the skin, it leaves it looking and feeling so healthy.

I even brought it to the beach with me on a few occasions. The heat was intense at times and because I was also in and out of the sea and the pool, this little gem was great to have on hand for that much-needed hydration top-up.

I know 10 days isn’t the longest time to be using a product but because my skin had been exposed to so much over the past week, from sun to chlorine to sea water, I couldn’t believe the impact it had on my skin not to mention the level of hydration it provided. Normally my skin would be SO dry after a holiday like that, but it’s in tip top condition and in my opinion, that’s thanks to both the mask and the liquid moisturiser!

I am definitely going to continue using them both in my skincare regime for the next while. I love how soft and refreshed my skin feels after using them and clearly they have been working wonders so far!

The funny thing is, my mum is a huge fan of Lancome. It’s the one brand she always invested in. She used to be budget buyer when it came to skincare, but about ten years ago she fell in love with Lancome and has been a dedicated fan ever since. Anyone who knows my mum well will know she is a stickler for good products. It doesn’t matter if it costs €1 or €100, it has to work otherwise she won’t use it.

Because I know how much she swears by the brand, I was actually really excited to try it out and see for myself. I always associated Lancome skincare with being for an older woman, but after having used it myself I can say with my hand on my heart that it is most definitely suitable for the younger woman. In fact, when I posted about my two Energie De Vie products on social media last week, I got so much feedback from readers who had also been using the range and loved it!
