The ring I’m wearing here is my ‘something old’, a ring belonging to my granny

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Back to the grind today… and I’m picking back up on answering some wedding Q’s I’m still receiving.
So I’m back today to chat about our wedding rings! I have been asked a good bit about the kind of wedding bands we went for, and a lot of people particularly wanted to know the kind of band Dylan chose, so after getting questions about them again over the weekend, I decided that topic would be today’s blog post.
If you were following me around the time I got engaged, you will know that Dylan had a bespoke engagement ring made for me by Michael in Rocks Jewellers.
After Dylan proposed and we returned home from The Maldives, I noticed that my ring was just slightly big on my finger so I headed back into Rocks to have it resized.
While I was chatting with Michael in Rocks, he told me to come back to him when we were shopping for our wedding bands and he would make me a bespoke wedding ring that would fit perfectly around the pair-shaped stone of my engagement ring.
So that’s what I did! Michael had mentioned that people should start looking for wedding bands around 6 months before the big day, especially if they want a bespoke ring, so with around 6 or 7 months to go, I called into Rocks and spoke to Michael about the kind of and that would compliment my engagement ring.
In the end, I decided to go for two wedding bands containing diamonds the same size as those in the halo in my engagement ring and the plan was that these two rings would then fit perfectly above and below my engagement ring.
True to form, Michel worked his magic and created the most stunning wedding bands! My concern was that if I had 3 rings, I might lose one when taking them off before bed or a shower, so Michael suggested fusing the three together as one ring! This made perfect sense, so now my engagement ring and wedding band are all the one!
For Dylan’s ring, he opted for a plain band with a matte finish. He didn’t want anything too shiny so he just chose a standard wedding band but he LOVED the matte finish because it also matched that on his watch.
On the day my bridesmaids also wore a beautiful faux diamond bracelet & earrings from Rocks too! It was one of my gifts to my bridesmaids and they loved them!
Having dealt with Rocks for both my engagement and wedding rings, I can say with my hand on my heart that they were absolute pro’s to deal with, and from personal experience, I can say Michael’s craftsmanship is second to none.
The creativity and passion that he invests in every detail of a piece is actually unreal. He doesn’t buy pieces in bulk from wholesale, he makes them from scratch so you have something unique.
I always love supporting businesses run by people with a strong passion for what they do and a great pride for the work they create, and I got that vibe from Michael the moment I met him which was why I had no problem trusting him with our wedding rings. I knew the quality and design of the rings would be out of this world and I was right! I absolutely love my ring!

Carrying the rings up the aisle on the day was chief ring-bearer, our little nutty, Coco!
We found a really cute bow tie ring pouch and tuxedo style cuffs for Coco to wear going up the aisle, but in the end, we left off the cuffs. The pouch was also personalised with our initials which I thought was such a lovely touch.
How cute does little nutty look? I nearly cried when I saw her little legs breezing up the aisle!
