What I Wore & Makeup Details From Last Night’s IMAGE Awards!

suzanne jackson

Hi guys!

So last night, I attended the IMAGE Businesswoman of the Year Awards as a guest of Vita Liberata Tan founder and CEO, Alyson Hogg.

The dress I wore on the night was from Starla. Would you believe I’ve had this number in my wardrobe for weeks now? When I took it out, I knew it would be perfect for the night that was in it.

Once I had my dress, I dashed over to Red Velvet to get my hair volumised with a little curl added to the front and end – Thanks Jane! <3

If the comments on Instagram and Facebook are anything to go by, you guys loved my shoes! I got them from Littlewoods Ireland and couldn’t wait for the opportunity to wear them! They’re so pretty and I knew they would be the perfect pair to wear with that particular dress.

The awards ceremony was held in the beautiful Double Tree Hilton Hotel and I have to say it was such an inspiring night. I was surrounded by so many ambitious go-getters, all of whom were so supportive and encouraging of each other. Those are my favourite type of people to be around!

Fingers crossed I’ll get there as a nominee some day 🙂

As you can see, I was Snapchatting throughout the night!

It was such a fun event and there was a great buzz when the winners were being announced. Alyson took home the title of runner-up in the category for Overseas Irish Business Woman Of The Year. Also in runner up position was Kathleen Mitchell of Stella & Dot.

Below are all the details about my outfit and makeup.

Skin base:

As always I used Mac Strobe Cream. This product is definitely one of my all-time favourites. It’s available in a travel-size too so if you havent tried out before, then you can always start with that. That’s what I did! You will absolutely love it though. I have yet to meet someone who didn’t!

It’s creates such a great base for my foundation and it always brightens my skin! I can see why it is one of MAC’s most famous products!

Foundation:

I applied my new Stila Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer which I got in the shade number 7.

I will be posting a full review about this very soon.

Contour & highlight:

To contour, I used my Inglot bronzer. If you need advice on the best makeup brushes to use for contouring, then this blog post should provide you with all the guidance you need.

My highlighter as always was MAC’s Mineralise Skin Finish in the shade Soft & Gentle. If you have pale skin like I do, Soft & Gentle is such a beautiful shade. If you are have a darker skin tone then I always recommend the shade Global Glow.

I sometimes like to use Global Glow whenever I’m wearing a tan, but that said, Soft & Gentle is still my overall favourite! It’s such a great highlighter and it always gives my skin a gorgeous dewy effect.

Blush:

My blush is the gorgeous shade ‘Down Boy’ by theBalm.

Eyes:

For my eye makeup, I used the Beauty With An Edge Palette from Urban Decay. The pigment in each of the palette shades is so fab!

Last night I used the shade ‘bordello’ all over the lid, and the shade ‘tornado’ in the crease and under the eye.

Lashes, Mascara & Eye Liner:

My lashes were from my own SOSU range and I promise they will be available very soon!

My mascara is Rimmel’s new 24 Hour Super Curler Mascara. I’m currently reviewing this product so I decided to put its staying power to the test last night. I’ll let you know the result very soon!

Winged liner from theBalm – such an easy to use eyeliner!

Brows:

For my brows, I used my HD Eye & Brow Palette and Benefit’s Gimme Brow. I have been a fan of Gimme Brow ever since I reviewed it earlier this year. At the time, I even featured it as my buy of the week, and a product has to be pretty damn good to get that title on SoSueMe!

TIP: To apply my makeup, I used my own range of brushes, SoSueMe for Crownbrush. If you want to know what to use each brush for, this post should help!

Lips:

My lip colour was Urban Decay’s Bittersweet Matte Revolution Lipstick.

Because it was matte in texture, its staying power was strong, and of course being Urban Decay, the pigment as always was amazing!
