What is Tantouring & How To Do It!

hhh

Hi Guys!

We are back today with a new beauty trend that we have been hearing about lately, Tantouring!

So what is tantouring you may ask? Well… it is the concept created by Cocoa Brown’s Marissa Carter of essentially sculpting the face (contouring) but with fake tan! Unlike make-up, this can last up to a week and would be ideal for those of you that are going on holiday’s or tend to wear light make-up.

So we are going to now take you through what you need and how to do it. 🙂 Enjoy!

What you will need…

So to achieve the Tantour look you will firstly need a contour brush to blend the tan into the desired areas. We recommend the C405 Angle Contour Brush which is also part of the full SoSueMe Brush Set. This brush is great for blending in the tan for a perfectly contoured look and the angle on it is brilliant for under the cheek bones. So the next thing you will need is your tan! Of course you can use whatever tan you prefer but we really like the Cocoa Brown 1hr Dark Tan and the St Moriz Dark Mist. These tans work well for Tantouring because they are not only dark, but they dry instantly and don’t have an oily finish which can cause break-outs if applied to the face.

So now to the method! In the illustration above you can see the areas that are to be contoured. These include the upper forehead into the hairline, under the cheekbones and down the sides of the nose. Now not all of these areas have to be tantoured for example if you have a bigger forehead, maybe you will just contour the forehead or if you want to enhance your cheekbones you could just line under them with the tan. You can really customize this trend to suit your face and features.

So before you begin make sure your skin is completely clean and cleansed, toned & moisturized. Use a light moisturizer or it will act as a block between your skin and the tan. So to begin, start by applying a light amount of tan onto your brush (less is more) and start with the forehead. Make sure your hair is off your face and begin blending the tan upwards into your hairline and upper forehead. Apply more if you need to depending on how dark you want it to be.

For the cheekbones, pout (duck face) so that you can see where your hollows are underneath the cheekbone and blend it in across. For the nose a smaller brush will be needed. A smaller Brush like the SS008 Eyeliner brush also from the SoSueMe kit would work perfectly for achieving that narrow line.

So that’s the Tantour trend!! What do you guys think? Will you be trying this at home? 🙂
