Hello everyone,
I’m back home, back to reality, and I’m officially all Coachella-d out!
Today I was in Penneys launching my new GLAM lash collection and the response so far has been so good. I’m thrilled. More on this in another post though! For today, I wanted to chat to you all about Coachella and fill you in on the details.
First off, I knew Coachella was going to be an incredible festival, but oh my God, it was that and more! Simply the most chilled out festival ever and the style was second to none.
In short, it was like nothing I could have imagined! I can totally see why this festival is such a huge deal, not only do you have amazing sunshine/heat, you also have yummy healthy food choices on site, the music was so good and the celeb sightings were exciting, to say the least.
Myself, Carla and Dylan genuinely had the best time ever and I will 100% absolutely be going back there next year…. but we will be 150% be more prepared. You’re probably wondering what I mean by this but basically, after being there and experiencing it first hand, we noticed that the parties happening around Coachella are actually a bigger deal than the festival itself. Most of them are invite only and you’re not even given the address of the party location until you have RSVP’d. With this trip being so last minute, I didn’t have time to look at what parties were happening around Coachella, nor did I know about them to try and sort out an invite, but next year I will.
What the majority of people were doing was heading from the day parties and then on to the festival. With the heat being so intense over in Palm springs, a lot of people chill out during the day by the pool when attending these parties and then when the sun goes in, they head to the festival to finish off the day.
Some of the biggest parties were:
- PLT / Paper
- Revolve (weekend party)
- Neon Carnival (after party on Saturday night)
- Bumble with the Jenners
One brand that invited me to their exclusive Coachella Party was Pretty Little Thing and Paper magazine. PLT actually stock my SOSUbySJ products and for the party they wanted to include my Glow Kit, lashes and lash case in the goodie bags which of course I was delighted to agree to, so off the back of that, they invited me and two friends to come along to the party – and wow, it was INSANE… just the best party I’ve ever been to hands-down.
At one point, we were sitting one table away from Kylie Jenner and her friends. Felt a bit surreal at the time to watch her Snapchat footage from the same party!
As you can imagine, the PLT party was so girly and so stylish! Those of you who follow me on Snapchat (@sosueme_ie) will know that Carla and I ended up chatting to a couple of bloggers and became good friends. We honestly made friends for life over there, everyone was so nice and friendly!

The festival itself was all kinds of amazing! And oh my God, the style.
Carla and I decided to get our hair styled for day 1 so we went with the very Coachella-esque glitter roots and tousled curls. That was all the rage over there and the style was just incredible.
I was seeing lots of short shorts, frayed items, mesh, fringing and skin – so if you’re wondering what’s coming – it seems to be exactly that and altogether too :)!
For day 1, we had super glittery mermaid style body paint applied by The Gypsy Shrine which was just the best way ever to finish a festival look! I had seen it on Pinterest but never actually got the chance to try it until the PLT / Coachella party. There was also the option of having diamante applied, but I just went for the glitter look.
We attended 3 days of the festival and I know lots of you had questions about different pieces I was wearing so I have outlined all the looks below.
Before we left for home, we decided to go for a cycle and to check out the area a little more. It was so pretty there but I won’t lie, the heads were delicate that day! Haha!
Coachella absolutely took it out of us! Totally worth it though. We made memories that are going to last a lifetime!
