The Perfect Nail Colour For Your Big Day!

large (21)

Hello all my lovely brides to be!

The beauty blogger is really coming out in me because lately I have been thinking a good bit about wedding nails for some reason?!

It’s probably down to the fact that I have finally ditched the acrylics (for now) as I am trying to strengthen my own nails in light of my big day in 15 months time.

With all of that in mind, I thought I would write a blog post about the classic nail colours I love and share some options with those of you getting married soon.

I personally haven’t decided on the shade I will wear but I do have a fair idea of what I will go for.

I know what I like but I will leave the final decision until closer to the time because I just know I will change my mind a thousand times before then!

If you have a nail technician booked for your big day, then you will no doubt have discussed shades, but if you are doing our own nails, or you would like to bring back your chosen colour to your nail tech, then here are the top 5  colours I would recommend.

1. SOSU ‘I Do’

SOSU: Nail Polish – I Do

This is my ultimate favourite shade from my SOSU collection and by far the best seller. It’s a gorgeous butter nude, a really clean cream colour that looks beautiful on the nail and very natural against tanned skin. It’s a real bridal shade (hence why I named it ‘I Do’!)

It also photographs really well which is an important factor for those close up shots of the wedding ring!

More and more brides are opting for the full pastel colour nail rather than just French tips, so this is great for achieving that look.

Bubble Bath is a beautiful bridal colour. It’s a real buttery nude shade that looks absolutely stunning on the nails.

Perfect for the big day!

3. Chanel ‘Secret’

The shade ‘Secret’ from Chanel is a gorgeous one and as its peachy/nude, it’s ideal for brides who want a natural looking shade with a touch of colour to it but not overly so.

4. Essie Tuck ‘It In My Tux’

Essie’s Tuck It In My Tux is white but not ‘Tippex white’. I suppose it’s more of an ivory white.

It looks fab on and has a really beautiful satin-look when dry.

5. SOSU Rock Candy

I know from the emails I have received that Rock Candy is quite a popular colour amongst brides. It’s also another one of our bestsellers overall.

It’s a nice pinky cream shade so if you’re a bride and you like want more of a colour on your nails then this would be a beautiful shade to go for. It’s very pretty and very wedding-appropriate.

As I mentioned above, I have removed my acrylics because I am trying to strengthen my own natural nails. I have worn acrylics back-to-back for 2-3 years now and my own nails were like paper!

They were breaking and bleeding, and just in really bad condition so I’m trying to get my nails in good condition.

For my wedding, I think I would like to have one of my own colours applied to my natural nails but if I can’t, then I might go for very natural looking acrylics with my polish over them, well that’s what I have in my head now anyway.

My nails are quite weak so I know it’s going to take a lot of work to strengthen them up.

My aunties on my dads side all have the same problem with their nails. My mum has lovely strong nails though, so it must be a Jackson thing! Haha!

I have heard of some brilliant nail supplements on the market so I’m going to look into some different types and give them a go, so I’ll let you all know how I get on over time.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Happy nail polish shopping, ladies!
