I hope you are all having a lovely Monday.
I got an update on my wedding cake last week so I thought I would write a post about it and the super talented lady who will be creating it!
At first, we had no idea what we wanted but after a lot of inspo-searching on Pinterest, we started to get an idea of the kind of style of cake we would like. That said, we still wanted to work with someone who had a unique vision of their own.
When I saw photos of Lisa Cannon’s wedding in VIP Magazine, I remember thinking her cake was absolutely beautiful, so I had a chat with my wedding planner Joanne and asked her if she knew who the cake maker was.
That’s when we discovered Tracy Desmond of Trace of Cakes! Lisa herself also highly recommended Tracy and had nothing but praise for her work. It’s always a massive help to get personal recommendations from former brides because their experience is the best review you can get.
Tracy is based in Cork and actually only got married herself last December. I had a few chats over the phone with Tracy and she gave me such great advice and guidance. She totally ‘got’ what myself and Dylan wanted and really understood the kind of style we were looking for. It’s always a weight off the mind when you find someone like that because then you know you can really trust what they’re going to create for you and that you don’t have to be checking in every ten minutes.
Throughout the entire design process, we had full control, and I have no doubt in my mind that the vision we all have for our wedding cake will be exactly what Tracy will create.
I’m not going to give too much away about it, but I can tell you it will be a bespoke cake and it will be totally unique to myself and Dylan. Because it’s so bespoke and because the whole process has been so personal, there’s definitely no cake like it on the market. The more I chat to Tracy about it, the more excited I’m becoming to see the end result!
Tracy is such a pro and her cakes have won a tonne of Taste Awards at the Irish Food Awards so I know it’s going to taste as fab as it looks! It’s all getting very real now!!
If you want to check out her work, you can do so here!
