Is there any hairstyle more summery than loose waves?

That messy beach hair look is such a pretty style and one that can be quite easy to achieve once you get the hang of it.

The great thing about this hairstyle is that it doesn’t need to be perfect or precise. In fact, the messier, the better!

The key to nailing this style however will be in the prep. Some like to use a diffuser when blow drying their hair as this helps give a more volumised tousled look.

When it comes to the actual styling tool you will use to create the curl, most prefer to use a curling iron/wand or a straightener, however there are plenty of styling tools out there that are so easy to style with. There is no definitive ‘best tool’ to use, so go with the one that you feel most comfortable using.

For extra long-lasting volume, try the pinning the curls and then releasing them once you’re ready to go! The longer the hair is pinned in the curl, the more volume you will get.

The trick to mastering the beach look is to not curl the very ends of your hair. When you start wrapping the hair around the curling iron, start a little bit above the ends. That way, you are left with more of a beachy finish as opposed to a defined curl.
