Cara Delevingne and Pharrell Williams have starred in a short film for Chanel entitled Reincarnation.
The film was unveiled today at the Metiers d’Art show in Salzburg, Austria. Cara and Pharrell are shown in a Cinderella and Prince Charming type scenario, posing as Empress Elisabeth of Austria and Franz Joseph I, Emperor of Austria.
The purpose of the film, directed by Karl Lagerfeld himself, was to pay homage to the iconic Chanel jacket.
Pharrell composed and sang an original song for the film called CC The World. Cara and Pharrell also appear in the accompanying campaign imagery for the Metiers d’Art collection.
Speaking about the collaboration, Lagerfeld says
“It was time to show the origins of the Chanel jacket, inspired by the one worn by the lift attendant in a hotel near Salzburg in the 1950s. Reincarnation is the story of a lift attendant’s jacket being reincarnated as a timeless piece of women’s wear. None of this would have been possible without Pharrell Williams….and Cara Delevingne. It’s the perfect cast. Pharrell is a genius”.
