Amy Huberman, Richard Dreyfuss, John Hurt & More To Appear At JDIFF 2014

The full line up for this years Jameson Dublin International Film Festival was revealed this evening and it’s a stellar schedule. Amy Huberman and Andrew Scott of Sherlock fame are set to close the festival with Irish comedy The Stag.

Also confirmed to appear are Richard Dreyfuss who’ll be bringing along the original summer blockbuster Jaws, Terry Gilliam with his new movie The Zero Theorem which stars Matt Damon and Christoph Waltz, John Hurt, Brenda Fricker, Jason Priestly and Peter Morgan who is set to host a screenwriting masterclass.

The festival runs from February 13th to 23rd and will take in 135 films and play host to over 70 filmmakers. Theres also some great spectacle events such as a free demonstration on Hollywood-style special effects extravaganza and stunt show in Smithfield Square on Valentines Day. Opening the festival on 13th February is the John Michael McDonagh’s follow up the smash hit The Guard, Calvary, again starring Brendan Gleeson as well as a host of other Irish talent.

Festival Director Grainne Humphreys is proud of the great line up this year and believes it showcases the strengths of the industry here in Ireland to international audiences and anyone looking for some unique and wonderful movie experiences.

“We can actually make a film that will have audiences leaving with a smile on their face. Go off the beaten track and take a risk, 2014 is the one we’re going to be talking about for a while.”
