It’s been four years since Beyonce invited a young girl named Chelsea-Lee James on stage as she sang Halo, with a touching clip of the emotional song going viral. Chelsea was the singer’s biggest fan, but had been diagnosed with a rare form of cance from a young age.

Chelsea sadly lost her battle with cancer on a week ago, but Bey had not forgotten about her Aussie fan, sending her condolences to the James family with 90 white roses and a handwritten card expressing “love and prayers”.

“Chelsea was a beautiful girl and I am so happy I was able to meet her. She touched my heart and I will never forget her”

The pair had been reunited last year in Sydney, while Beyonce was there for her Mrs Carter Show world tour. They met backstage in a meeting set up by charity Camp Quality before Beyonce dedicated Survivor to her.

Chelsea tragically passed away after a decade-long fight with cancer. Her mother, Donna, said there had been a strong bond between her daughter and Beyonce.

“There was a connection for sure, there was something about the both of them. Even the second time they met, Beyonce yelled out her name and jumped up in the air, she was almost more excited than Chelsea was.

Chelsea passed away with a smile on her face, and I know that smile is even bigger now.”
