Matthew Knowles, father of Beyoncé and manager of Destiny’s Child, has announced that tickets are now on sale for his next one-day music industry bootcamp ‘The Entertainment Industry – How Do I Get In?’, which will be taking place on October 24 in Houston Texas.
General bootcamp admission costs $199, however those who wish to also have lunch and a photo with Matthew can expect to pay $299 for their ticket.
The bootcamp isn’t just for performers either. According to the event website, it’s for “aspiring composers, writers, producers, managers, publicists, attorneys, business managers and all other entertainment industry hopefuls!”
The bootcamp will include a presentation from Matthew in which he talks about his years managing Destiny’s Child and offers first hand advice to those who want to follow in the footsteps of his starlet daughter.
There will also be a panel of 6 successful industry figures on stage to give blunt advice on how to break into the industry. Following the event, all attendees receive a certificate of completion and Knowles reference booklet of industry definitions, contacts and additional useful information.
Having read reviews of the bootcamp, the 500 attendees can expect to hear A LOT about Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child.
The event will no doubt further annoy Beyoncé, especially as the singer already has a tumultuous relationship with her father.
Just last year, it was revealed that Matthew had held a yard sale in a bid to offload Destiny’s Child memorabilia as well as mementos from the early days of Beyoncé’s career. Solange’s albums were also said to have been on sale there for less than $2. News also emerged around that time of his hopes to obtain the rights to a Destiny’s Child movie.
Matthew may not be Beyoncé’s manager any more, but he is certainly making a career out of being her dad!
