My Packing Essentials..

y

Hey guys… 🙂

We all have those few items that we classify as ‘essentials’.

Whether it’s handbag essentials, make-up bag essentials, suitcase essentials, there will always be a number of products that we can’t imagine not bringing with us. Well, after receiving lots of requests from readers, I have decided to list the essentials I brought with me to the Caribbean!

Hair:

-Uniq 1 Leave-In Conditioner

The Uniq 1 Leave-In Conditioner is amazing! You might remember I blogged about it before? Well I’m still using it! It’s a big love of mine, and it’s first on my list of essentials because it was first in my bag when I was packing for the Caribbean!

The hot sun and salt water can really dry out hair, especially extensions, so while I’m here, I am spraying it on during the day and then showering it off at night. It keeps my hair so hydrated and prevents it from drying out. It’s a Godsend!

– Kevin Murphy Powder Puff

One of my hair favourites, there was no way I was leaving without it!! I use it for both day and night styles because I love the kick of volume my hair gets from it. I first started using it when I had short hair, because naturally shorter locks are always going to need extra help when it comes to achieving body. I swear by this stuff. It’s really good for hold too! If you want to find out a bit more about it, you can read out my original post here.

Body:

– Bodyshop Coconut Shimmer Body Butter

IMG_8082

No explanation needed! As most long-term SoSueMe readers will know, this is one of my favourite products, When I reviewed it last year, all Bodyshop branches completely sold out of it! It is hands-down one of the best body moisturisers I have ever used.

It really moisturises the skin, and that softness really lasts too. Because it hydrates the sin so much, it’s a brilliant moisturiser to use when you want to maintain a spray tan. It also contains a beautiful shimmer so it’s perfect for holidays, and the coconut scent smells absolutely divine! Such a summery fragrance I think!

– Sally Hanson Airbrush Legs

Regardless of how skilfully your spray tan was applied, there will always be that disheartening moment when your pale skin starts to peek through as the tan begins to fade, or in some cases, goes blotchy! It happens to us all, which is why damage control is the order of the day! I often find that my ankles and arms are the two places where my tan will usually start to fade first, and when this happens, I like to apply an instant tan to even it out and keep it looking fresh. There are so many instant tans out there, and I have a few that I quite like, but for this trip, I packed my Sally Hanson Airbrush Legs. It’s waterproof too, so it’s ideal for holidays! It also has a touch of a nice shine. You can read all about my tanning routine here.

Skincare:

– Juliette Armand Thavma Therapy

IMG_8080

You might remember that I went for a Juliette Armand facial a few weeks ago. As I mentioned in that blog post, I started using a few of the Juliette Armand products following the facial, but hadn’t reviewed them yet as I wanted to test them for a good few weeks first.

I didn’t want to disrupt my skincare routine, so I packed my Thavma Therapy face moisturiser and serum, and I use them every night before bed. I think I use the serum a bit more than I use the moisturiser because it’s so hydrating and I love how soft it makes my skin feel.

– Rodial Glamtox Eye Cream

I packed the Rodial Glamtox Eye Cream mainly because its size is so travel friendly. It’s a really good product but best of all is that it contains SPF 15! I have always maintained that eye cream is an everyday essential, so there was no way I was going to leave without it!

– Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

IMG_8083

I always like to bring Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Usage Dry Oil with me on holidays. THIS oil is what has given me that dewy glow on my body you all asked about…. its AMAZING!! I cant go anywhere without it. I am missing the spray thing at the top, but I just use my perfume one and alter the too 🙂

– Beverly Hills Formula Whitening Toothpaste

IMG_8085

I have been using this toothpaste ever since it was sent to me by Beverly Hills Formula recently. I attended the Image Beauty Awards not so long ago but because I had a big SOSU shoot the following morning, I couldn’t stay for the whole event and so I missed out on the goodie bag!

Beverly Hills were sponsoring the event so after tweeting me, they sent me the product! A whitening toothpaste is always going to be an essential regardless of whether you are on holiday or not, and I have to say, I am really liking this one. I love that feeling of really clean teeth and I also love that fresh minty after-taste too, so the whitening element is a total bonus!

Sun Cream:

IMG_8074

Sun cream is an everyday essential, regardless of where in the world you are! I apply SPF every day without fail. I’m not a sun worshipper, and I always use a spray tan. Depending on where I am, I will use a factor 30-50 on my face and a factor 15-30 on my face.

I will double up on sun protetion by using a couple of different ones and re-applying frequently. Whether I’m in Ireland or the Caribbean, SPF is something I will always use!

РDeclar̩ Sun Sensitive Anti-Wrinkle Sun Spray (25 SPF)

IMG_8077

I was really impressed with this! I use the dry oil spray, because I like that you don’t have to rub it in.

You just spray it on and you’re done! Very handy for when you want a quick re-application throughout the day!

– Lacura (Aldi range)

IMG_8076

I 100% swear by this Lacura sun cream from Aldi! I used it last summer and I loved it, so it was a no-brainer to bring it with me to the Caribbean. Dylan and I have been using it all day and we haven’t burned once. It’s a gem!

РDeclar̩ Sun Sensitive Anti-Wrinkle Sun Cream (30 SPF)

IMG_8075

This is genius…. its a lip balm at the top, and then you twist the orange cap off and there is your 30 cream… so handy!! I apply to this to my face about twice a day. Dont want any of those wrinkles.. just yet 🙂

Plane Bits & Bobs

Burts Bees face wipes were my handbag companion on this trip. They’re so good! I find they really take away that horrible travel feeling from the skin. (I used them for my Dallas plane trip too)

I also applied Trilogy Face Oil to my skin every five hours or so while flying. It’s really hydrating and as we were travelling for 24 hours, it was a lifesaver!

And of course, my beloved lip balms and hand creams came with me! I can’t go anywhere without a good lip moisturizer, and I think a hand cream is a must-have when you’re heading off on a long flight.
