Ellie Goulding has shared a picture of herself on Instagram sporting what looks to be a new tattoo, but it seems it may not be any ordinary ink!!
Fans of the upcoming film Divergent believe that it is an homage to the tattoo that main character Tris (played by Shailene Woodley) gets in the film.
The tattoo depicts three black swooping birds on the collarbone seemingly identical to the one seen on Shailene Woodley in stills from the film. In the story Tris gets the tattoo to remind her of the three family members she is leaving behind when she chooses to join a faction called Dauntless. Ellie features prominently on the soundtrack to Divergent but there’s no word yet on whether or not the tattoo is permanent, or just a novel way promoting the movie.
The story itself is set in a world divided by factions based on virtues, where Tris learns she’s Divergent and won’t fit in. When she discovers a plot to destroy her kind, Tris and the mysterious Four must find out what makes Divergents dangerous before it’s too late.
While it all sounds a little confusing, the books are wildly popular and are filling the gap in the teen market left by Twilight since the vampire saga came to an end. Fans of the books are looking forward to the movie hitting our shores on April 4th, and keep your eye peeled for more news on the blockbuster soon!!
