It’s award season which means one thing … red carpet gowns!!
Last night we had the Golden Globes and boy did certain catch my eye!
Now in saying that, I’m still on the fence about a few of the celebs choices (I’m talking about you, Katy Perry!) but for the most part, I was pretty impressed with what I saw. Anyway, rather than rounding up all the style that graced the red carpet last night, I figured I would just feature my favourites.
Here are my top looks from both the awards ceremony and the after party!
Lily James
I loved Lily James in Cinderella, and this gown really reminded me of that film.
It has such a beautiful fairytale feel about it, and I especially loved how the material trailed down the back!
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
RHW, the SoSueMe girl crush, wore a fab gold jeweled gown that was custom-made for her by Saint Laurent!
Not surprisingly, she looked incredible! That said, it wasn’t her dress that had people talking! Did you see her sparkling new engagement ring?
You can check it out here!
Saoirse Ronan
Saorise Ronan did the Irish so proud last night!
How elegant does she look in this floor-length caped number from Saint Laurent?
Absolutely loving the train at the back too!
Leonardo Di Caprio
There. Are. No. Words.
The man can just do no wrong!
JLo (awards & after party)
HOW is JLo 46? Just how?
The age-defying beauty had all the cameras clicking when she stepped out on to the red carpet looking as amazing as ever.
I quite liked her choice of gown for the after party. After wearing a very loud statement gown by Giambattista Valli for the awards, she chose a simple white tailored number from Rouland Mouret to wear for the rest of the night.
It’s so sophisticated and elegant-looking, especially against her fab skin tone.
It cost over €3,000 and has already sold out since she wore it!
Kylie Jenner (after party)
I loved this feminine number on Kylizzle but I have to admit, I was kind of surprised when I first saw the pics of her wearing it.
I suppose we’re so used to seeing her in black structured numbers that most of us wouldn’t expect to see her in a gown like this!
Thumbs up from me!
Amber Heard
How beautiful is this colour on Amber Heard? And the floral detail on the back? Wow!
I’m not the biggest fan of floral, but this just works on Amber.
Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan
Power couple alert!
I have always been a big fan of the Tatums, but even more so now after their hilarious performances on Lip Sync Battle (which you can see here and here)
I loved Jenna’s dramatic gown and I thought Channing looked very handsome in his tux, but like most people, I wasn’t too keen on his hair!
Jennifer Lawrence
J Law really rocked it in red last night.
Lots of you guys were saying she should have worn her hair down as the up-style made her look older. I have to say I do like her hair down, but I can see why she wore it up last night. The attention is very much on the dress (and those killer abs!)
Lady Gaga
Hello Miss Monroe!
I loved this gown on Lady Gaga. It just suits her to a T! The hair and the makeup also really complimented the whole look perfectly.
On point!
Cate Blanchett
How stunning is this colour? And oh my God, that detail is absolutely beautiful!!
Granted, this gown wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste, but I think it really worked on Cate Blanchett.
Zendaya
Marchesa is one of those labels that will never fail to look super-amazing, especially at glam Hollywood events!
I love this colour on Zendaya, and I really like how she had her hair brought back with a soft curl.
She really wowed on the red carpet last night. A style icon in the making, undoubtedly.
And there you have it guys! A round up of my fashion favourites!
