Herbal Essences crowned Ireland’s Vera McGrath as the winner of its #ScherzingerHair Competition which set out on a mission to find the most naturally beautiful hair in Ireland and Britain to coincide with the relaunch of the Herbal Essences ‘Classics’ collection.
Herbal Essences invited their Facebook fans to channel their inner Nicole Scherzinger, strike a pose and enter into the #ScherzingHair online competition in August 2013.
The expert judging panel took inspiration from Herbal Essences Global Brand Ambassador Nicole Scherzinger’s luscious locks and in October chose ten finalists who were then profiled on the Facebook page where and fans voted and crowned Vera McGrath age 25 from Glounthaune in Cork as having #ScherzingHair.
The expert judging panel featured Ben Cooke, celebrity hair stylist and Herbal Essences Ambassador; Jo Hoare, Heat Magazine’s Style Editor as well as Simon Comins, Superdrug Buying Director for Ireland and the UK.
Vera McGrath was whisked to London just before Christmas where she met Nicole Scherzinger, starred in her very own double page photo-shoot for Heat magazine and was guest of honour at the Herbal Essences #ScherzingHair wrap party where she celebrated her win in style! Vera also won a year’s supply of Superdrug products. Lucky gal!!!
Commenting on her win, Vera said:
“I was really excited to enter when I first heard about the Herbal Essences competition but had no idea I’d get so far. In fact I was so convinced I wouldn’t win that I even changed my balayage to a natural brown colour after I entered. The whole experience has been a fairytale and dream come true”.
