Well, this is kinda awkward… Here’s us thinking we’re a great aul country but it appears that one of the world’s most famous couples didn’t exactly fall in love with the place on their honeymoon! Yep, it can only be the recent Kimye, and EVEN people living under a rock know that they stayed here a few weeks back after tying the knot in Italy.
Their destination of choice in our fair land was the family run Castle Oliver in Limerick, a stunning hotel that offers all a star could want in the way of luxury…or so one would think. According to reports now, Kim & Kanye have refused to settle a bill rumoured to be as much as €25,000. The whole debacle is because the couple felt the castle was “too big” for them and the phone reception wasn’t great, so they only stayed for dinner and left for Ballyfin House in Laois instead.
The problem is, Castle Oliver had spent a fortune on ordering in champagne, flowers, and loads of other stuff that the couple had ordered for their stay…and now they’re out of pocket.
“Everyone is shocked to say the least. The castle is out a fortune on their honeymoon. It is absolutely awful. They made all these requests ahead of their visit, for certain foods, champagnes, thousands in flowers, candelabras everywhere. The hotel brought in everything they requested, and there were dozens of items. But then they took back all the money they had paid for them!”
Apparently, since Kim paid for it using her black American Express card, she can get a refund on any purchase she made, which is exactly what happened. There’s also a rumour that whoever booked the Honeymoon destination in Kim’s entourage has been fired over the decision! Yeezus!!
“Everyone involved in making their honeymoon perfect at Castle Oliver has been completely burned. We’re not just talking about the hotel, but providers from all around the local area who gave their services and time in good faith that Kim and Kanye would pay them. But they won’t get their money back… A member of staff based in the United States was fired for booking them into the venue. It’s insane! We’re talking about one of the richest couples in the entertainment business refusing to pay the bill for their honeymoon. It would have been a dream honeymoon for anyone else in the world, and they should just have the decency to pay their bill.”
We’d like to think that maybe the whole thing is just one sorry mix up, but for now it seems that not even the Irish could charm Mr. & Mrs. West during their stay!
