A few weeks ago rumours were rife that Mary Kate Olsen had gotten engaged to her boyfriend of two years, Olivier Sarkosy. The union prompted debate as Olivier, the brother of the former French president, is 44 and Mary Kate is 27, but now what has got everyone talking is the ring!
Mary Kate confirmed the engagement by sporting a huge four carat diamond during a shopping trip in New York. The ring is a vintage Cartier design which originates from the 1950’s. The central four carat stone is surrounded by 16 sapphires and gold petals which are also set with diamonds. It’s definitely an usual ring and is rumoured to have sold at auction for a whopping $81,000. Wow!
