Deja Vu anyone?? It seems Rory McIlroy has left another girl high and dry, after claiming now he isn’t ready to commit long term. The Golf superstar has broken off his engagement to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki just days after sending out wedding invites.
In a brief statement issued through his Dublin-based communications consultants, the 25-year-old said he was making the announcement publicly after talking to Wozniacki.
“There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people. The problem is mine. The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realise that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails.
I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we’ve had. I will not be saying anything more about our relationship in any setting.”
Just three days ago Rory still appeared to be happy with his fiancée posting a photo on Twitter during a romantic dinner at Nobu in Monte Carlo. The couple had announced their engagement only on New Year’s Eve, after reportedly being together for two years.
At the time McIlroy tweeted: “I have a feeling it is going to be a great year.”
We’re guessing it’ll be a while before another girl can trust to commit to him after this latest stunt.

I understand what you are saying,it’s better for both sides that they got out now if one of them wasn’t ready to commit but his press realise was so impersonal and patronising towards her,it was more like the separation of a business partnership than the end of a personal relationship,why announce it at all? Why not just say the engagement was off and let her keep her dignity.

Let’s give this guy a break! Better he realize NOW that he is not ready for marriage than after the fact. I don’t think it is mean, I think it is being responsible. I am not saying there are not hurt feelings on both their parts but I applaud him being honest in admitting that he is not ready for the commitment.

Wow! How mean is that,she must be heartbroken. Personally I think she gotten a lucky escape! He seems like a horrible person but you can be guaranteed he’ll have some else hanging off his arm in no time.
