Valentines Day is not always like it is in the movies or fairy tales. In fact, it can be a time of great stress for some of us.
Here at So Sue Me we have been inundated with requests for ‘Gift ideas’ for the men in your lives. Tired of the same old ideas – clothes, smellies and socks, You guys were looking for alternative gifting ideas this year.
So here are some different options you can choose from this year, all under €100 (no need to break the bank!)
1) A Concert Ticket – So simple yet so personal. If you don’t already know his favourite band you better get rooting through his itunes. A ticket for a gig or festival is always a great gift, Its a gift that can turn into a memory of a fun night out or an awesome weekend. (Plus you can join in the fun and enjoy the gift together) With all the festivals beginning their announcements already (Marley Park/Croke Park) there are plenty of options out there. So whether it’s Garth Brooks or Arctic Monkeys, The O2 or a field, with varied prices and locations find the one to get him excited and planning a fun time.
2) Toys/Gadgets – Thanks to Dave (our resident So Sue Me male) who has pointed us in the way of some ideas for the ‘Geeky’ man in your life. Head over to thinkgeek.com where there is everything from Batman dressing-gowns to ‘mouldable chocolate’ and Doctor Who watches. Prices vary from €5 to €50 and there’s a lot to browse through.
3) A night on the town – Who says a Valentines gift has to be wrapped up and physically handed out? Why not treat your other half to a night on the town? There are so many cheap options out there, it doesn’t have to be a snazzy gourmet restaurant. Many places put on specials or early birds for the special occasion. Or how about a night at a comedy show? There is comedy on 7 nights a week in The International Bar ranging from €5 up, bargain for some drinks and some laughs. Always a fun alternative night on the town.
4) A Groupon/Living Social Deal – Get yourself signed up to Groupon or Living Social Deals. You will receive daily offers to avail of, from massage days (For the Sports guy?), a cheap weekend away down the country (A gift you can share), Or even a flying lesson (for the dare devil). All of these offers are usually under €100 and once again they are something different to enjoy.
5) Lingerie – If all else fails ladies – Lingerie. This is a tried and tested theory among many males and females. Ask any guy you know – A lady in some hot lingerie is gift enough for most. One can definitely get benefited from this so I feel Every one should try to make handmade gifts for their lover or to the valentine whom they feel they are their valentine it doesn’t matter who they are, they may be their friends, mom-dad, brother-sister anyone can be a someones valentine.
