Hi guys!
Happy Monday! 🙂
Yes I know, Mondays are traditionally the root of all evil, but I’m actively trying to change my outlook on that! Did you see the post I uploaded to my Instagram about how Monday has the magic of a fresh new start, new possibilities, and how we should all make things happen today….? Well, with that motivating message in mind, I decided what better way to start off a new week than by shooting a few new looks for a fashion post?
I recently picked up some occasion wear from Missguided for my holidays to the Caribbean and for some looks to showcase right here on SoSueMe.ie. I had a couple of hours free this evening, so myself and Dylan headed off with a camera in one hand, bottled water in the other, and got snapping!
There are two reasons why I deliberately selected occasion wear items for this shoot. Number 1, I know from your messages that every weekend is taken up with a wedding, communion, christening, etc, and you guys are in need of some outfit inspo for whatever occasion it might be. And number 2, who doesn’t love dressing up to the nines at the weekend and hitting the town with the girls?
SoSueMe has over one million readers, so it’s often a little difficult to judge the best price range to shoot looks from. As far as I can see, you can’t go wrong with items that are stylish and affordable, so I chose looks from one of the SoSueMe faves, Missguided.
Their occasion wear is absolutely stunning, and if you’re in the market for some new style, then you are in for a treat! It’s often hard to justify spending big on occasion wear, especially if you know you will only get the one wear out of it, but the great thing about the offerings from Missguided is that not only are they are extremely reasonably priced, but you will also be able to wear them to a variety of different events and occasions. There is literally something there to suit every taste.
Outfit 1 – Red premium lace long sleeve skater dress
Something tells me I’ll need to keep this red number under lock and key, otherwise my two sisters will have it gone with them!
There isn’t anyone that this dress wouldn’t suit. I could totally see Kate Middleton wearing it, but yet I could also see Alexa Chung in it too! It’s a classic style, and the lace sleeves are so beautiful.
The great thing about this dress is that while it is absolutely ideal for a summer wedding, it would also be amazing for a winter wedding/celebration! (I know that a good number of you are already keeping an eye out for dresses to wear to Christmas weddings) Now is the time to pick up winning numbers like these.

Outfit 2 – Floral cross back culotte jumpsuit
I can’t get enough of culottes, and I am a big lover of jumpsuits…so when I spotted this culotte jumpsuit, I had to have it.
This outfit has a real city chic fashion blogger vibe about it, which I loved, and it definitely wouldn’t look out of place in a swish eatery in New York.
I decided to pair it with a light pink blazer and very light lilac heels, which are also from Missguided. The floral jumpsuit is the main statement piece, and I didn’t want to take away from that, so I made sure I toned down the rest. This blazer is going to look gorgeous with skinnies and a white tee. I love collecting versatile pieces that I can pair with lots of different looks, and this is definitely one of them.

Look 3 – Lace ladder detail bodycon dress in white
I saved the best till last! (Another gorgeous dress that I will have to hide from Carla and Katie! Haha!)
When a dress immediately catches your eye, you know you’re on to a sure thing, and the second I saw this lace number, I knew it was one you guys would adore! Couldn’t you just picture Kim Kardashian or Eva Longoria stepping out in it?
The pattern on the front of the dress helps to create the illusion of gorgeous curves, so you end up with a fab looking figure. If you are conscious of your upper arms, as so many ladies are, then the long detailed sleeves will disguise them.
The intricate detail on this dress is amazing, so while I wanted my heels to be stylish, it was also important that they were subtle. These barely there strapped heeled sandals fit the bill just perfectly. I love this kind of sandal. They are so dressy but yet work so well for a stylish casual look too.
