It’s been three decades since the release of the iconic Band Aid song Do They Know It’s Christmas, and to mark the anniversary, Bob Geldof has put together a who’s who of British and Irish talent in the music industry to re-release the song, this time to raise money for countries battling Ebola.
One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Ellie Goulding, Bono and others all got together for the song, which debuted on The X Factor results show last night.
Sales of the single have reportedly been phenomenal since the release, raising over €1 million in the first few minutes of it’s release. The song is available on iTunes right now and will be on CD single in the shops in three weeks, costing €4.
