The latest tech giant to realise the potential value of wearable technology is Google, who have announced their intention to jump into the market later this year with Android Wear. Working with consumer electronics makers and other companies, the aim tis to develop lightweight and fast working wearables, starting with smartwatches.
In a post on the official Android blog, Google has named HTC, LG, Samsung and Motorola, along with some of the trendiest watch makers around, like Fossil, as their first official partners. The fruit of their labour is expected later this year, and with the continued success and growing popularity of devices like the Sony smart watch, don’t expect this to be a flash in the pan fad. As the video below highlight, the possibilities are endless with this technology becoming more and more a part of our daily lives.
